Lynne Cefalo, Head Coach

Lynne has been coaching the Middletown Swim Team for 10 years. As head coach, she has seen the team achieve several winning records, including two back-to-back undefeated summer dual meet seasons (2009-2010). During her tenure, the team's record board has almost completely been re-written. All but one of the girls and four of the boys individual pool records have been broken including several records posted by Tom Wilkens (2000 Olympic Bronze Medalist).

Out of the pool, Lynne encourages team building and friendships through activities and fundraisers designed to bring people together. Over the years she has developed fun activities that have become traditions such as "Thursday morning breakfast parties", getting together for ice cream after the meets, pasta parties and having "fun meets" with teams outside out league.

Lynne's dedication to swimming is exemplified by her 20 + years of experience as a coach and swim instructor at the Red Bank YMCA. Her patience and knowledge of stroke techniques and training exercises make her the perfect teacher for children of all levels. She has four children, all of whom swim competitively, including three in Division 1 college programs.

Under her leadership, Lynne hopes to continue to help the children learn teamwork, good sportsmanship and develop a skill and love of swimming that will last a lifetime.
